President Bush Praises Bishop Paul for Helping HIV and AIDS Victims in Africa

May 31, 2007

Bishop Paul was praised today by US President George Bush for his work towards HIV and AIDS victims at the "Hope Center Medical Clinic" in Nairobi. President Bush commented on the growth of the Clinic.  He also congratulated US citizens on their dedication of giving and donating to help victims of HIV and AIDS.

In the past, a commitment of $15 billion was given for this cause.  Today, President Bush is asking Congress to commit to $30 billion to help private institutions like the Hope Center Medical Clinic run by the Coptic Bishop, His Grace Bishop Paul.

In the past year, the Chicagoland Coptic Community donated medical equipment and money for the Hope Center.  As well, Dr. and Mrs. Atef Moawad have led a Chicagoland Coptic group of youth and young adults in the past and will soon travel in the upcoming days to Africa as Coptic American missionaries.

In the spirit of giving, the Chicago Copts would like to raise money to help the Hope Center .  If you would like to donate, make your checks payable to the Chicago Copts and mail it to Chicago Copts, PO Box 2337, Darien, IL 60561.  Please place in the memo “Hope Center Medical Clinic.”
