St. Mary at Jesus' Cross

St. Mary at Jesus' Cross

Jn 19:25
"Now there stood by the cross of Jesus His mother, and His mother's sister, Mary the wife of Clopas, and Mary Magdalene. 26When Jesus therefore saw His mother, and the disciple whom He loved standing by, He said to His mother, "Woman, behold your son!" 27Then He said to the disciple, "Behold your mother!" And from that hour that disciple took her to his own home."

St.Mary after Jesus' Death and Resurrection

Acts 1:12-14
"Then they returned to Jerusalem from the mount called Olivet, which is near Jerusalem, a Sabbath day's journey. 13And when they had entered, they went up into the upper room where they were staying: Peter, James, John, and Andrew; Philip and Thomas; Bartholomew and Matthew; James the son of Alphaeus and Simon the Zealot; and Judas the son of James. 14These all continued with one accord in prayer and supplication,[1] with the women and Mary the mother of Jesus, and with His brothers."

Biblical Reality

The virginity of St. Mary is not a matter of her own private life, but rather a "biblical reality," which belongs with our faith in Jesus Christ. For when the word of God was Incarnated, He was not particular about the kind of place where he would be cradled, or the clothes He would wear, or the food He would eat; but He was definitely very particular about the Virgin who was to be His Mother.
